Pay Now Button for eWAY v1.3.0 has just been released. It improves compatibility with WordPress 5.5; email and phone fields support auto-filling better; requires PHP 7.0 or later.
WordPress 5.5
The colour selection buttons in the settings page stopped working on WordPress 5.5, due to changes in how WordPress manages some translation strings. This version now handles WordPress 5.5 correctly, as well as being backwards-compatible with older WordPress versions.
In addition, the plugin can now participate in automatic plugin updates, if you enable them. This means that any future updates could be automatically installed by WordPress without the need for an administrator to run the update.
Auto-filling email and phone fields
When email and phone fields are enabled for the button (e.g. on invoice payment forms), those fields will now signal to form auto-filling applications that they can be automatically populated. For example, visitors who use the excellent 1Password to manage online identities can ask it to populate those fields from a stored identity.
PHP requirements
The plugin now requires a minimum of PHP 7.0, although we’d recommend something more recent like PHP 7.3 or 7.4. Even version 7.0 is old, obsolete, and unsupported now, so we won’t be supporting older versions than that any more.
You can update to the latest version from your WordPress plugin admin page. Here’s the full changelog for Pay Now Button for eWAY.
